Our Fabulous Fishing Trip

This is the best day of our trip. We had a wonderful day even though it was freeeeeeezing cold. I had on a long sleeve shirt, 2 sweaters, and my snow jacket. The hood was perfect as it kept my ears warm in the cold wind. Bill got the biggest fish of all. Unfortunately a wave altered my perfect alignment. We each caught about 15 bass/bluefish and had to toss them all back in except for 2 apiece. The last picture is all the Striped Bass we got to keep. We split it with the other guy who went with us. In total we had about 40 lbs of fresh fish fillets! Guess what we had for dinner! Absolutely delicious.

Ocean Edge Beach

This is the private beach for the Ocean Edge Resort. It is a bayside beach so at low tide you can walk across it for at least a mile. The water reaches about the knees in most areas. By the time the tide comes in the water leaves only a few feet of sand. It was perfect for me as I don't really like to swim but love to wade. We even saw live horseshoe crabs.

Ahhhh, relaxation. We spent the entire 2 days sitting right here.

Sunset on the beach!

Ocean Edge Resort

This is the Ocean Edge Resort. Bill and I stayed here for 3 nights after the wedding. The main hotel is a mansion and separate carriage house. It overlooks their private beach. Directly on the beach they have condos that you can just walk right on down to the water. We stayed across the street at a different set of condos, one bedroom places. Still absolutely amazing.

Uncle Bill and Aunt Jeanne

This is Bill's Uncle Bill and Aunt Jeanne from his fathers side of the family. Uncle Bill is 92 years old and his wife, Aunt Jeanne, is 82. She is so active she could pass for a 60 year old. They are such a sweet couple and they very much enjoyed meeting my Bill. Bill brought one of his Tucson Fire t-shirts for Uncle Bill and he had to put it on right away. Uncle Bill worked with Bill's great grandfather on the fire department back there and so he had lots of stories to share.

The Wedding - The Whole Point of the Trip

This is the beautiful wedding we attended. The weather could not have been better or the view more gorgeous. The second picture is the couple just after being pronounced husband and wife. The two lovely ladies with Bill is his mother who is on the left and his aunt, who is the mother of the bride. His aunt created their two hats especially for the wedding! The last picture is Bill's cousin, Bill and his wife, Terry. They are the ones we stayed with for most of the trip. They were absolutely wonderful for letting us use their rental property.

Nauset Beach

This is Nauset Beach which is in Orleans of the Atlantic side of the Cape. It is the most beautiful beach I have ever seen. It makes California beaches look like a dump. The sand is so smooth and everything is so clean. Tall beach grasses top the small dunes that surround the smooth beach. The middle picture is a horseshoe crab shell we found as we walked along the beach. Even though it was freezing, Bill still had to get his feet wet!

Uncle Roberts Place - Wedding Location

This is Uncle Roberts house. He is a confirmed bachelor and a pretty funny guy. His house overlooks Pleasant Bay. During the summer months he stays in the boat house and rents out his main house. It is a gorgeous property and a perfect spot for the wedding!

Family in Massachusetts

We just got back from a wonderful trip to Cape Cod, MA. Our first real trip in forever! We met tons and tons of Bill's relatives, spent wonderful time on the beach and just relaxed! These pictures are from Bill's cousins house where we stayed. This is 'The Pond' Bill grew up swimming and playing in which is just a walk down the hill from his cousins house. Across the street is a freshwater pond that is the residence of an adorable swan family.

New Blog

Well, unfortunately blogger froze us out of our old blog so we are starting all over from scratch. At least we get to start this one with our Cape Cod trip.
